Lake Travis Uniform Design

about.

This was the initial design for the full re-design of the Lake Travis Cavalier Band uniform and had several goals.

  • Use the "LT" somewhere in the design. There is a large LT on the chest with hidden zipper closure so that performers can easily put on their own jacket (vs. a traditional back-zip jacket) as well as "chainmail" gradient in the gray consisting of repeating LT logos.

  • Create a silhouette that is flattering on all body types and enhances the illusion of uniformity. This was done with the black on the sides of the torso, by enhancing the width of the shoulders, and strategic placement of white highlights (shoulders, hat, gloves, and arms)

  • Keep the uniform off the front of the neck which can create discomfort. The uniform is a front-zip design with the zipper beneath the LT logo. The black below the neck is a compression shirt that is open.

  • Allow for unlimited movement and flexibility for weather. The sleeves and jacket are separate creating a feeling of wearing an sleeveless shirt to allow unlimited range of motion and keeping performers cooler in the Texas heat. A long sleeve shirt was also designed for cold-weather use.
